This online workshop is meant, firstly, to care for the caregivers. Enjoy Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) to rejuvenate and nourish yourself. Additionally, we will explore and identify different ways self-touch may be used in teaching ATM to support your students’ learning. Through the frame of receptive vs. imposing touch, we’ll clarify how different touch activities may produce specific qualities or responses in us, including (but not limited to) using the hand to “paint” awareness, rhythmic touching as a way of introducing movement in unexpected places, and bone-tracing for skeletal awareness. Of course, learning through self-touch will improve how we touch others in Functional Integration®, too!
